How to Protect Yourself and Your Family from the Flu this Season

December 4th, 2009

Here are a few tips to improve your chance of avoiding a flu or fighting one if you already have one:

1.  Listen to what Mom has said all along-  Wash your hands…often!  Shaking hands, using public doors and door knobs, using office telephones and computer keyboards are all opportunity for picking germs and viruses.

2.  Eat at least two heaping tablespoons of organic plain yogurt a day.  Or if you’re lactose intolerant…take probiotic supplement.  Eat onions daily and especially garlic, a natural antibiotic.  Eat something raw at every meal: fruits, nuts, seeds, veggies.  Drink plenty of water.  Do not become dehydrated.  Use natural sea salt, which has 80 essential minerals, including magnesium and potassium.  Salt and water together stimulate metabolism.  Stay away from sugar, as much as possible.  Why?  Because sugar shuts down your immune system up to two hours.  Use Stevia, a natural sweetener instead.  Take a good multivitamin.  Take a good essential fatty acid complex supplement.  Take vitamin C.  If you have the flu already, also take 1000-2000 IU of vitamin D3 supplements.  Oil of Oregano is another product you may consider if you already have the flu.

3.  Exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes a week. Do not exercise when you have the flu….REST!!!

4.  Get enough sleep- at least 7 hours per day.

5.  Get regular chiropractic adjustments to improve the function of your nervous system, which will in turn boost your immune system.

STAY HEALTHY.
